Beautiful songs, trademark folk, headstrong (sometimes even punky) Rock 'n Roll and a warm sound. Those are the keywords for the new album "Melancholicus Realisticus" of The Watchman. Beautiful songs and headstrong folk have been a trademark of Ad van Meurs and his band for years, but being able to create Rock 'n Roll is a quality we (and he) had not seen in a long while.
All this poured into a beautiful warm (old) sound makes this album very pleasant to listen to. A recording best enjoyed late in the evening, in the company of a glass of fine wine. "I think this might be the best record I ever made" was a comment heard from the musician after yet another session of listening.
